The Unravelling dig again into beautiful darkness with new single “Revolt”

The Unravelling are one of the most promising Canadian industrial bands. And now they’re back with “Revolt” – a slow-paced, painfully electric track resembling Nine Inch Nails, Tool with a touch of Skinny Puppy.

Their return on the music scene comes after the recent recovery of lead vocalist Steve Moore, who fell ill in 2011 and was forced to spend the next year and a half in surgery and recovery, thus sending his collaborative partnership with the project’s founder and instrumentalist, Gustavo De Beauville, into a hiatus.

And even though De Beauville continued making music during that time, with solo material and a soundtrack he did, we’re more than happy that The Unravelling are back together! According to Moore, “the song was the first piece of new material Gus sent me, and it immediately struck me on a very deep level. It seems suitable that we’re releasing it now. The lyrics to “Revolt” convey a rejection of the false and a need for inner change. This is an inner revolt that we are talking about.”

The band’s debut full-length psycho-analytic concept album “13 Arcane Hymns” received much critical acclaim. If you’ve missed it and you just hear about The Unravelling you should check the video for “Move Forward Until You Are Dead,” directed by Doug Cook.

And while patiently waiting to hear more from the new stuff, get more from them on Bandcamp & Facebook.
