London-based 4 piece band Staring Out The Sun creates high powered and somehow anthemic music, although fun and easy to listen. Hard hitting drums and huge guitars are mixed with sonorous vocals in SOTS’ debut EP “Break The Silence” produced by Matt Hyde, known for his work with Fightstar and Slipknot.
The EP opens with the power-packed Trust No One, moving into the more intimate and love-related YMEE. The third track in the EP “Secrets” already has its own video and it’s on VEVO – which is rarely seen for debutantes and it’s quite impressive.
The last song on the EP “Anaesthesia” slows down the rhythm a bit and opens with clean vocals. The catchy rhythm, the cool synths as well as the lyrics make it my favorite one.
Starting Out The Sun have a distinctive style and big potential. I’m patiently waiting to hear more from them. 🙂
