Heidi Howe releases new album

If you like alt-country music you should take a minute and check out Heidi Howe. Why? Howe has toured nationally, placed first in the WAMZ battle of the bands, played huge concert halls and pitched songs in Nashville. Also she has some cool tattoos, if that could be a reason, nowadays.

Heidi just released the video for her new song “Kind of Crazy”, where she drives, kisses a lot, takes 25 c pony rides and has hell of a fun the southern way.

“Kind of crazy” is actually the first single from her new upcoming album “Be Good”, which will be officially released on February 1st, but is available for free streaming now on Soundcloud and Bandcamp .

The album possesses a modern Americana sound, highlighting her signature voice, described by Paul Curry from The Courier Journal as “one of the local scene’s smallest wonders”. Heidi is also known for her preference to small, cozy venues and her saying that she “would rather play to 10 people who will listen than to 200 people who consider me a jukebox.” and putting out an album called “I love Britney Spears” in 2007.

She also played all over the US and opened for musicians like Todd Snider, Jason Ringenberg, Paul Thorn, and The Wood Brothers.

What’s the theme of the album?

“If there’s a theme for this album, I suppose it’s addiction. My own addictions and those of other people I love and have loved. It’s not a recovery themed compilation of songs by any means, but my personal experiences have certainly influenced my writing. Ultimately, it’s my goal to make smart, twangy music that helps me (and hopefully others) get through rough patches and celebrate the good in life.” Heidi answers.
