Urban Saints

Today my photo for the Bulgarian project Urban Saints got posted online & I realized (as selfish as it sounds) that I haven’t mentioned it here – even though we shot a great episode about it for the local TV show BuntART.

Stefan Vasilev, a graphic designer and a photographer, is the mind and the camera behind this conceptual project that caught my attention right away. Born and raised in the capital Sofia he noticed that the round windows and architecture features can look like a halo around a girl’s head – and “Urban Saints” was born. In the beginning he thought about capturing one girl in different locations, then he considered the idea to take also photos of men, but finally he stopped on a concept – different girls living in Sofia or somehow involved with the city on different places he randomly founds. Stefan has exactly 66 saints in his collection right now and he’s publishing them all in a book. Soon.

By then – check the Urban Saints’ Facebook page and his Behance portfolio or just add him on Facebook and show some love. He’s a really cool guy. You can be sure about that. And very talented.
