Lana Del Rey VS Jill Tracy

I have to admit that in the past couple of days I was listening A LOT  to Lana Del Rey. I was ignoring her for a while, even made fun of her, but I must say that I dig her femme fatale/American wasted youth imagery, her husky voice and her vintage stylistics. The songs are much better than the ones of  Lady Gaga for example and over cool and catchy for mainstream pop.

If you haven’t heard the name Lana Del Rey, you’ve probably been on a vacation on the Moon or further for the past few months. But you may be don’t know these bad babies that deserve your attention. I already met you with Lydia Lunch.

Now is time to tell you about Jill Tracy.

The San Francisco-based singer, pianist, writer, composer, and performance artist is know for her dark, evocative, cinematic style. Jill Tracy states that some of her biggest childhood influences were film score composers such as Bernard Herrmann, and classic suspense tales, including Alfred Hitchcock and Fritz Lang films, Ray Bradbury stories, and Rod Serling’s The Twilight Zone (VS Nirvana, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Bob Dylan, Eminem and a boyfriend she was playing video games with with for Lana Del Rey).

I found Jill couple of years ago and my favourite song of her is “Let’s spend an evil night together”

even though I love almost equally “You leave me cold”

I will compare these two songs to my favourite Lana Del Rey ones:

“Diet Mountain Dew”

and “Off to the races”

Now you tell which one of these two fine ladies you prefer and may be also why. xoxo

Lana Del Rey VS Jill Tracy. Which one you dig more?
