John Cale and Nico were old buddies in Velvet Underground and now, after we survived “the Apocalypse”, he’s remembering her with “Life Along the Borderline: A Tribute to Nico”. The tribute to the singer is joined by artists like Nick Franglen from Lemon Jelly/Blacksand, Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth, The Magnetic Fields, Peaches, Sharon Van Etten and more. Tickets vary from $20 to $80 and can be purchased from BAM’s box office or online here.
However, the party doesn’t stop here. On 18th and 19th, again in Brooklyn’s Academy of Music Cale is performing his 1973 pop-art landmark “Paris 1919” accompanied by the Wordless Music Orchestra and playing some of his latest album “Shifty Adventures in Nookie Wood”. Tickets here.
