Horsing around with the evil seagulls

The summer came to its end and I finally decided to go to the beach on my day off on Thursday. Honestly, I worked (and drinked) my ass out this summer – I’ve spent the days mostly in working and hangovers and/or the nights in working, getting drunk and partying. Well, it was my first summer in NYC, I had to settle down, make some dought & some friends, you know… So the summer elapsed imperceptible and it was the beginning of September. Not even one beach so far!!! Only 2 days off this week, one of it already behind me, really rainy and not beachy at all! I was so desperate about going to the beach at least once this summer and so sure that the next day will be just as rainy, that I texted my friend “The Rooster” that we should go anyway. Raining or not, its totally fine for me. Even if its raining it may be a completely different experience – reasonably dry under the umbrella, no people, no tan, totally insane = <3 ! He asked me if I’m drunk, I told him that I may am but its normal for me, especially at 1 am. He said that he’s asking, cause he probably is drunk, and its totally normal for him too! In two words we understood each other completely in just few text lines and decided that I’m gonna go to his loft in Bushwick the next day around 11 am – noun and we’re heading out for our wetly bizarre beach journey!

Next day I woke up at 10 am. I sucessfully forced my self to wake up, actually, cause I was partying till 3-4 am last night at Lower East Side, which was totally normal for me as well. I had to ride 4 fucking subways to go from Astoria, where I currently lived to Bushwick, and on top of it, MTA were making some horrible works on the N train, so I had to take it back 3 stops back , then to wait for it again, and then to take it 3 stops forth, which really pissed me out! And you never knew when it’s gonna be regular or fucked up like that, cause they changed the schedule of  the works, more often that I change my moods (OK, close by…) so it was even worse.

However, around 1 pm I was finally at the nest of my dear Rooster. He was so kind to me and he cooked me eggs with spinach & bacon and toasted bread with butter, so he totally spoiled me! Its getting even better – the weather was so nice and mellow, no reminiscence of the heavy rain from the previous day! God still loved me after all, and that was marvelous! The Rooster has a truck and he was living in NYC since 6 years, so he was picking the beach! We were going to one of the Rockaway’s beaches and that was so cool! I wanted to go exactly there, since I read “Tropic of Capricor” of old Henry Miller, I was so hyper, exciting and having fun! I knew that probably later I’m gonna pay the price and be selfish, cold and frowny but this didn’t mattered cause for now I was feeling great and yes GOING TO THE BEACH!!! Wooo hooo!

The beach was so empty and huge. There was only one tent with two other people on the other side of the beach. Everything else was completely desolate and beautiful!

It reminded me so much of Brian Eno – On some faraway beach, I wanted to play this song there, but there was no connection on the beach. So we putted our stuff and even an umbrella, got undressed and enjoyed the view. Everything was so calm, nice and easy, untill some evil creatures sneaked next to us and started looking at us with their piercing eyes. We weren’t alone. We were on the teritory of the evil seagulls.

They surrounded us and started looking at us. I imagined how hungry they were, because there were no people and no trash on the beach and how they came to eat human flesh. No doubt, these were the evil human eating seagulls and there was no one around us to help us. Anyway, we were so cool, that we could hang around with everyone, se we appeased them and they realized that we’re their homies, which just came to visit them. On the pic, this is actually Seagull Ma, which was a little bit bitchy in the beginning, but when you get to know her she was actually a nice gal. Without fear, we were horsing around with the evil human-eating seagulls and we survived!!! Here are two lousy videos, to see actually how evil and fierce this birds are and how brave and cool we are!

Look forward for the next episode “Horsing around with the evil runners”, which are even more dangerous. Do you know why? Because they’re always the ones that find the bodies in the morning. ]:)
