Louise Aubrie

Louise Aubrie was made in London, where she started recording music at the famed Mill Hill Music Complex. However, she decided to move to New York, surround herself with fellow musicians and establish her signature sound – a mixture of post-punk and rock wrapped in pop-melodies, possessing rebel, youth and simplicity.

Writing all her own material, Louise released the debut album “Fingers Crossed” in 2010 in a collaboration with Boz Boorer – one of the pioneers of the British rockabilly movement and musical director for Morrissey. The record, produced and engineered in Portugal, received critical acclaim in both the US and the UK, as well as national radio airplay.

Now Louise is back with her highly anticipated follow-up album “Time Honoured Alibi” released in March this year. Boz Boorer is once again at the helm, both as producer and as a co-writer with Louise on a new track. The album was mixed by Cam Blackwood at Voltaire Road Studios in London, who has recently worked with artists such as Cee Lo Green and Florence and the Machine and mastered in LA.

Indie-pop, guitars, simple catchy melodies and a distinctive female vocals – “Time Honoured Alibi” makes a great mate for the times when you’re just enjoying yourself and life, alone or not. Listen to it free here. My personal favourites? “Lovestruck” and “Circuit” – the second one reminding me of a record from the cult British label Sarah Records.

Louise Aubrie is a young, female indie artist gaining momentum and worth to be followed.
