Fixe Magazine Party @ Tammany Hall

This Friday I wasn’t feeling that well, but I gathered energy to go and check out Fixe Magazine’s fetish party at their new location Tammany Hall. I mean what a better solution to feel back to normal again than a kinky party, some whiskey, may be some whips, right?

I went there around 12:30 AM. The guy on the door was the friendliest and funniest ever. He was putting on these glittery wristbands telling the arrivals that these are the “bracelets of shame” and they’re just “too much fun”. xD

Inside the party was very laid back with a promiscuously gritty but charming downtown NYC vibe. Different people were taking turns on getting whipped / or whipped other people on stage, on the rhythm of a pleasant mix of industrial and EBM blended with alternative pop tunes by And One and more mainstream tunes like La Roux. I saw the guy wrapped in a carpet in front of the bar, on who people step to get drinks, that Icarus wrote about in the previous review from the Fixe Magazine party. And I stepped on him. I hope he loved it! At the end of the party there was the same guy walking away with a carpet under his arm, all smiling and chatting with other guests. There were some cute little submissive girls with their dominant boyfriends, badass mistresses, dirty old pervs, dudes in suites and random strangers that stumbled upon it, now looking around with curious eyes.

Even though my friend was a bit of prudent and skeptical about it, I was definitely in the mood to get drunk and may be even get on stage to get my spanking dose as well… if the drinks situation in Tammany Hall wasn’t so fucking outrageously absurd. First 11$ for Jack Daniels. Seriously? I mean I get that it’s a club but really 11 dollars for not even that great of a pour. Come on… however, that was the smaller problem – the bigger one was that the drinks were just disappearing. In front of you. Twice to me.

Literally, I was watching the performance and I had my whiskey next to me on the table and when I turned back to get a sip it was gone! First I thought that a barback took it or something, but it was almost full… Then I found out that I should always keep the drink in my hand or someone else will take it and drink it. Really? In NYC? In a place where people pay 15 to 20$ cover to get in? I got another drink, took a sip and gave it to the bartender to keep it while I go for a smoke thinking that is the safe solution. When I came back 5 minutes later I asked her for my drink and she said that she “left it there” and now it’s gone. In a reaction to my angry face, she poured me half a glass with well whiskey. So that way I ended up spending 22$ without the tip that I gave only by custom to barely drink and a half – the second one – house booze…Thankfully, the solution is very simple – keep the party, change the location! 🙂

And because I really don’t want to end the review with something negative and because I really enjoyed the party, let me tell you a story told to me by the Amazon mistress Victoria Sapphire on my way out.

“When I was 12 my mother gave me  “History of O”. She told me “I think it’s up your alley”. Then she came back two months later and asked me “So what do you think” and I answered “I want to be Renee”.
