Evolfo Unveils Last of the Acid Cowboys

unnamedWhen 60’s psychedelia meets gypsy rock it makes a pretty neat sound and that is exactly what Brooklyn, New York’s Evolfo is going for. They have been playing together since 2011 and on their upcoming E.P. Last of the Acid Cowboys they really seemed to have perfected it. The five song record goes together seamlessly to create exactly the feel the 7-piece psyche band is trying to convey.

“It’s not explicitly a concept album but it possess a common theme and stories and I want it stimulate the imagination,” says bass player Ron Lanzilotta. “Creating Last of the Acid Cowboys was a practice in patience and decision making. We spent a lot of time deciding what to omit rather than adding parts or building”an album. Because we know it spans several genres as it is and it even used to span more. I hope we refined it around a central theme: like an acid western. It’s dark but adventurous.”

Adventurous is the right word for certain for a band that started their musical journey as not more than a house party band while in College in Boston. But what started as just a fun way for seven friends to pack a stage in New England has morphed into one of the most exciting indie acts in the country that is packing stages and rooms nationwide.

Last of the Acid Cowboys will be released tonight with a raucous show on Grand Avenue in Bushwick at Sunnyvale along with co-conspirators Street Smells, The Mad Doctors and DJ Shoestrings.
