Autoktonix
Mixing cult horror movies samples with Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker video game from the 80’s, Autotronix is what would happen if Bela Lugosi fucked your old SEGA and gave birth to a child. And personally as a musician its one of the most creative, and fun projects that I had the opportunity to work with. The band was originated in Saltillo, Coahuila Mexico – an old 500 year town in the middle of the desert with wild peyote growing everywhere. It was created by Jonathan Garcia Ramirez – who has been in the local scene for more than 15 years, part of projects such as Electrixida – old skull local hardcore punk band – and Mr. Monghol – crazy trip hop noise. It all began with Roland 303, an old sampler, and a kaoss pad. Add some drugs, punk riffs and a crazy front man to the equation and you have Autoktronix.

The live experience is awesome – one day we were playing at a fashion show, next day – in an art gallery, then a crazy underground party, raves…. you certainly don’t know what to expect or what’s coming next as performance. Jonathan relocated to Monterrey Nuevo Leon, Mexico to start Bong Bong Records and I was living there at that time. I’ve known Jonathan from former projects and one day I received a call from him: “You wanna be a part of this?” F#CK Yeah!
After three months of composing we recorded Autoktronix’s first E.P. “Droogmanizer” – a strong cyber punk extended play with a lot of techno and video game influences in it. The singles “Pobre nino cabeza de metrono”and ” Droogmanizer”will take you to a world of animated, live performances, stop motion videos, crazy short films. Moreover, they’ll give you an idea of whats going on in the middle of the dessert, where rave parties still exists in natural scenarios, where drugs and alcohol abuse is on a daily basis.

Autotronix are currently working on new material. New EP is expected by the end of 2013, like the Mayans predicted.
